At our discretion, consignees can schedule drop-off appointments after they have had at least two successful appointments.
A scheduled appointment is when your 25 items (per each visit) are gone through while you wait and items that can't be used are identified.
Drop-off appointments allow the consignee to bring in a larger amount of merchandise. Please keep in mind the following:
Anything we can't use will be donated to the City Mission and if more than half of the items are unacceptable and donated, we will ask you not to schedule a drop-off appointment again.
Appointments are sometimes scheduled many weeks in advance. If you get your boxes ready in advance, it is important not to store them in a garage, basement, or even worse, a barn. Any living creatures (spiders or worse) discovered in a box, immediately panics us and forces us to send every box from that consignment number straight into the dumpster.
Box size should be no larger than 20" x 12" x 11". Perfect style box: "Hammermill" Paper Box. Boxes should be clean and not previously used for produce (banana boxes, etc. are a no-no). Boxes should be able to close securely - both top and bottom. Clean and sturdy paper shopping bags with handles can also be used as long as they are securely labeled with a consignment number.
Each box should be packed carefully with your items. Fragile items should be wrapped and NOT put in the bottom with clothing or other items on top of them. It is a good idea, when sending a mix of items, that clothing be kept separate and packed in its own box(es).
In each box, please include your name, address, phone number and consignment number on a piece of paper, so we know exactly whose box it is. Write ONLY your consignment number, in several conspicuous places, on the outside of the boxes. As we sort through a large quantity of merchandise, it is helpful when the boxes are properly labeled.
Following these directions carefully is very important, as we go through hundreds of items weekly and it helps to make it a more efficient and time-saving task.
We do offer pick-up services for large quantities i.e., estate liquidation and other special circumstances. This DOES NOT include pick-up after your yard/garage sale. We will gladly come BEFORE the sale, but not afterward. Please call ahead to inquire about this service.
